Tell Me What to Write
This is a place for you to suggest topics for me to write about, books to review or people to interview. You can also vote for other people’s suggestions. When there is clear consensus behind an idea I will try to write about it (or find someone who can).
I intend to trial this process through the month of June.

The dangers of contemplative spirituality
This is another topic I have been reading a lot about. Sola Sisters, Ken Silva, and others have been talking about this. I see it as part of a great apostasy going on within the visible church. It appears to be in some dark way connected to an emerging global religion.

making sense of psychiatric illnesses
Biblically, are psychiatric illnesses different from physical illnesses? How do we make sense of some of the seemingly religious content of psychotic symptoms?

Review of "Chosen but Free" by Norman L. Geisler
I've seen a lot of people use quotes from this book to refute the Doctrines of Grace(or at least by trying to combine them with arminianism somehow), and even seem to quote reformed pastors like Spurgeon(out of context?) to refute ideas like limited atonement(calling it "hypercalvinistic). I know discerningreader.com links to an offsite review of this book(which is 404'd right now) but I would really love to see your thoughts on this book Tim.

2 Visual Theology suggestions
I'm not sure how to make them visual but I am sure anything that visualises the Grace of God would be helpful. And the scripture I would love to see visualised would be 1 Cor 13 - Love

Is marriage a fundamental human right?
Those in favour of same sex marriage often claim that marriage is a human right. I believe rights such as food, water, protection etc as listed in the United Nations charters are right, good and helpful and generally reflect the belief that humans have inherent value. These things are essential for human survival. As a Christian I believe that humans have value because of God's character, and thus rights are derived from God. Under naturalism humans only have the worth assigned to them arbitrarily (to be consistent) so I don't think naturalism has any basis for speaking of rights -… more

the potential misinterpretation of the dharma of jesus
going by the gospel of thomas, the wisdom credited to jesus was misinterpreted by ubiquitous scribes of jewish culture when writing the synoptic gospels....as with the buddha it seems that jesus spoke of god metaphorically rather than in the literal sense....

Gospel - do I love it or do I love the IDEA ofloving it?
Jared Wilson tweeted something along these lines, and it hit me right between the eyes. With all the Gospel-centered talk that is going on, I think we can get excited about the talk and not about the Gospel. I would love to hear your thoughts

50 Shades of Grey
This book series is spreading like wildfire among women, and I'm afraid soon it will infiltrate women in the church. From what I've read, it's like Twilight for an older generation, and contains very sexually explicit material, focusing on sado-masochism. Bascially a twisted romance novel that's become the #1 selling book on Amazon (topping The Hunger Games). People still come to your site for book reviews, I thought it would be helpful to warn believers about this series.

To the Jew First
Trying to wrap my head around 'reformed' theology, and wondering as a believer (and student /teacher of the word for many years) how this fits in with Romans 1:16. My family is Jewish (I am a grafted in Gentile) as my beloved husband is a Jewish non- believer, and my parents are gone but his are now my parents. I believe the LORD has given me a love and burden for Israel.

Sharing Christian books
Like a lot of Christians I have a collection of books that I have benefited from reading, but rarely get lent to others to benefit them. Could you write about lending good Christian books between Christians, and suggest how to better facilitate it? I remember seeing a reference relatively recently in my blogfeed to a cataloguing website that might fit the bill, but can't find it. You mentioned librarything in 2007, but said you don't often use the social networking features.

Facebook "likes"
Hi, Tim
I had a disturbing experience today. I'm part of a national Christian author's network. Today in the forum someone posted a list of every author in a "like fest." Everyone was encouraged to go and "like" everybody else's Facebook author's page. The problem is, while I could be honest and like only those authors I know and "like," this is one of the notes I saw consistently. "Okay, I liked everybody on the list. Now please like my page." I had no idea who this person was. If I had been on the list, she wouldn't have known… more

Is Military service a sin?
Delve in to what the bible says about being a follower of Christ as well as a member of the armed forces. I understand that no man may serve to masters, but don't we all have a boss, or someone that we can put before Christ?
