Tell Me What to Write
This is a place for you to suggest topics for me to write about, books to review or people to interview. You can also vote for other people’s suggestions. When there is clear consensus behind an idea I will try to write about it (or find someone who can).
I intend to trial this process through the month of June.

discovering hope and encouragement in tough economic times
Would you please consider doing a review of Rich Jensen's book "Discovering the Jewel in Job Loss"? You have such a thorough, extensive and thought provoking message on many different topics but in our area there is so much financial stress, struggle and job loss and a review of this book along with your thoughts on the topic would be a tremendous encouragement to many. Thanks for considering! :)

When to leave a church or when to start a church
1. There are times in one's christian when it may be necessary to leave a church. What are some good reasons to do so?
2. There are times also when one leaves an area and can only find a wishy washy clapped out church where for one reason or other you just might not fit in. When is legitimate to start a new church? How does one go about this? What of the house church movement?135 votes -
Millennial Views
I would be good to see a series of clear, concise, and balanced articles on the different millennial views. I believe that many still struggle to understand the different perspectives and unfortunately, many receive their theological knowledge from individuals who haven't taken the time to understand opposing perspectives.

I am going to try to work up a series on this topic. It is underway, but may be quite a long time in coming since it will require a lot of research. Stay tuned!

Oprah's spiritual influence
How Oprah's doctrine is false, yet it has creeped into our Churches. After her final show so many people praised her for standing and preaching about her faith in the one true God. Yet her "new age" beliefs are completely different from the truth that is in scripture. Very few people in the reformed blogging community have publicly called her on it.

Christian Deliverance from Demons
A friend who experienced childhood trauma has been paying for Christian counseling. Their counselor believes that Christians can be possessed by demons, and that one can be delivered from these demons. I've heard this sort of thing spoken of quite a bit. Is this legitimate?

Insurance and the sovereignty of God
Nothing happens without the will of God. The 'assignments' God gives us are part of our sanctifiation process. Is it then right to lessen the financial impact of some of those assignments by purchasing insurance?

Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage: What Does the Bible Say
It has been said that the divorce rate among Christians is no different than non-Christians. Whether this is an accurate assesment of Christian marriage in the postmodern world remains debatable. What is clear is this - the covenant of marriage, whether Christian or secular, is not held in the esteem it once was. I believe the readers of challies.com would be served well by a biblical/historical assessment of covenantal marriage, divorce, and remarriage.

How do I respond to strangers who ask for money?
Many have experienced being caught off-guard by a stranger who is making a plea for money in support their cause (which often times seems very questionable). What do we do? Can we prepare for these unexpected encounters? Christ said "give to those who ask of you", but does this mean we should always give, or is there more discernment required in these situations?

evangelism and the sovereignty of God
How do we develop relationships with lost people and do not have "a seal the deal mentality"? The gospel isn't a pitch so help me think deeply how the sovereignty of God should affect the way to witness..

Entertainment choices - important or unimportant to be discerning?
Does our choice of entertainment (movies, books, etc.) affect our walk with the Lord and our call to be holy, as He is holy?

Being a pastor versus being a preacher
I think we're in a cult of celebrity phase at times and the 'heroes' are known for being preachers, not necessarily pastors. What about the outstanding shepherd who dies to self, sits with his flock in their hour of need, and faithfully leads them day after day....Why do we honor preachers more than shepherds?

The decline in scripture memorization in the church
First, is there a decline across our traditionally evangelical churches in America? (I've seen it in my church & community)
If there is a decline, why?
If true, what ramifications result?
